Victorian Walnut Antique Glazed Bookcase.
This stately Victorian antique glazed bookcase is made from walnut and dates from around 1890. It has a moulded cornice above two glazed doors with key and working lock. The interior has three adjustable shelves with an early fabric lined back. The lower section of the antique bookcase has a rectangular moulded top above a shaped frieze drawer with key and working lock. Below the drawer sit two turned bobbin corbels that frame two cupboard doors with raised fielded panels. The interior of the cupboard has a single fixed shelf. The piece stands on a plain plinth and is a warm medium walnut with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
