Victorian Oak Country House Letterbox (c. 1870 United Kingdom)

Circa 1870, Victorian oak country house letterbox. The sloping top has an open aperture for letters, a brass plate stamped Letters and another brass plate with a glass front for posting times. Below the top is a Brahma lock and a small opening with bevelled edge glass to see if there are letters to be posted. Good piece of country house furniture.

Size 23cm high x 31cm wide x 19cm deep.
