Georgian Flamed Mahogany Antique Bureau/Writing Desk.
Dating from around 1790 this quality antique Georgian flamed mahogany bureau/writing desk has a moulded fall front, the interior of which has a green baize writing insert. Within the cabinet itself there are several small drawers and pigeonholes/letter racks. The lower section of the antique bureau has four graduating cock beaded drawers with replacement oval brass handles. The antique bureau stands on splayed shaped bracket feet and has the original backboards. It is a rich, warm light golden mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
