An unusual pair of George III mahogany hall chairs having pierced scroll backs with a painted armorial cartouch at the centre. The back splat has on the reverse a label which reads 1785 - 1858, 30 HILL STREET LONDON 'HOME SWEET HOME'. The dished and shaped seat is supported by cabriole legs terminating in scroll toes.
