This beautiful antique Victorian mahogany twin pedestal writing desk ca 1860 has a rectangular top with rounded corners and a slightly worn brown leather tooled writing insert. The desk has a central mahogany lined drawer with matched brass handles above a kneehole and each pedestal has four graduating mahogany lined drawers with brass handles. The piece stands on a plain rounded plinth with castors and the back is finished enabling the piece to be displayed anywhere in a room. The desk splits into three sections for ease of removals, is a rich medium mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
