Antique Victorian Walnut Desk – Twin Pedestal
This beautiful antique Victorian walnut twin pedestal desk ca 1860 has a rectangular moulded top with a red tooled leather writing insert above a central drawer and kneehole. Each pedestal has four graduating mahogany lined drawers with turned handles and the piece stands on moulded plinths with castors. The back is also finished enabling the desk to be positioned anywhere in a room. The desk has a few small old repairs consistent with age and use, splits into three sections for ease of removals, is a rich medium walnut colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
