English bracket pad top bracket clock. A traditional shaped mahogany bracket clock having a break-arch case with a pad top and carrying handle, reeded canted corners and brass ogee feet. The brass bezel has a convex glass with a painted convex dial , signed Lowe, Chester. It has an 8 day chain fusee movement that strikes the hours and halves on a gong, made by Gillett and Johnston of Croydon. Lowes of Chester were a family of 19th Century Clock makers and retailers.
